Ideas - Governance Process

Anyone is welcome to share early-stage ideas here—no formal format needed. Use this space to brainstorm, heat-check, and gather initial feedback from the community.

Governance Flow:

1. Ideas

Post any proposal concepts or suggestions. This is an open space for exploration—formatting isn’t required.

2. Draft

Once an idea gains traction, you can turn it into a draft proposal on the Amnis Finance Forum

Drafts should follow a basic structure, be clear and to the point, and explain why the proposal deserves DAO consideration. The Draft Proposal should clearly explain why it is important enough to merit a DAO vote. Proposals that do not meet the minimum quality standard may be removed.

After the discussion period, the DAO Committee reviews the proposal. They may provide suggestions for improvement, request additional information, or approve it to proceed to the next stage. This ensures proposals are thoroughly vetted before entering the voting phase.

3. Proposal Vote

a. Off-chain Voting

Approved proposals move to Off-chain Voting, where AMI token holders from the forum can cast their votes. Off-chain voting has four statuses:

  • Pending: The proposal has been created, but the system has not yet taken a snapshot.
  • Voting: The proposal is open for voting.
  • Approved: The proposal has passed and will proceed to the next step.
  • Rejected: The proposal does not meet the requirements to proceed. A proposal is rejected if:
    • Less than 5% of the total token supply participates in the vote.
    • The majority votes against the proposal.

If a decision made by the DAO does not require any on-chain actions, a successful Off-chain voting is the final step. Otherwise, the proposal moves to on-chain voting.

b. On-chain Voting

Proposals that move to On-chain Voting phase, similar to the previous step, 5% of the total token supply must vote for one of the options to meet the quorum. However, for a proposal to be enacted, the “Yes” vote must exceed 50% of the total votes. This ensures that only proposals with strong community consensus are implemented on-chain.
